Debris Containment and Fall Protection System

REPLACING YOUR ROOF BUT DON’T WANT TO IMPACT TRADING ACTIVITIES ? – NO PROBLEM WITH OUR BESPOKE DEBRIS CONTAINMENT AND FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM.

Recent months has seen significant enquiry in regard to the opportunities afforded to clients by our 3 layer protection system.

Comprising fall protection nets overlain with debris netting and heavy duty plastic sheeting, the system has been deployed on projects totalling over 30,000 sq.m. in the last 6 months.

Major national names including Spotlight, The Warehouse etc… have recognised the advantages that the system offers when they are looking to replace/repair their roofs. The system ensures that all dust and debris is captured so stock/merchandise it’s largely uncontaminated. We have developed our system to ensure the ongoing compliance and serviceability of fire protection systems, security systems, lighting etc… are maintained whilst works are undertaken.

We regularly install the system outside of normal business hours i.e. overnight to enable our clients trading operations to be un affected by the installation of the debris net and containment system.

HOW DOES DEBRIS CONTAINMENT WORK?

Debris containment is achieved in combination with a fall protection solution. A debris netting liner and/or a layer of heavy duty polythene overlay the personnel safety net to provide a 3-layer protective system. The debris liner helps to catch small falling objects such as tools or demolition materials that might fall through the spaces between the weaving of the safety nets.

The plastic sheeting also stops dust and rain water penetrating the building envelope whilst works are undertaken. The personnel safety netting provides the strength to stop falling heavy objects or personnel. Where asbestos fibres are suspected of being present, an additional layer of heavy duty plastic is used in conjunction with the three-layer system described above to enable the asbestos contaminated materials to be collected and disposed of in a safe and compliant manner.

We have successfully used this system on numerous projects throughout the country, saving our clients hundreds of thousands of dollars by enabling the roof to be replaced with NO PRODUCTION/TRADING DOWNTIME – THEIR WORK PROCESSES CAN CONTINUE UNAFFECTED AS THE ROOF IS REPLACED.

Once again Safety Nets NZ leads the way in seeking innovative new uses of safety net fall protection systems on construction sites throughout the country, so if you need any help with your upcoming project, just contact me on craig@safetynetsnz.co.nz or (021) 782 583 at any time to see how we can be of assistance.
